The Glee Club Cardiff - What's On Feb/March 2007

The Glee Club Cardiff - What's On Feb/March 2007

Prepare yourself, because any cynicism you may harbour is soon to be dispelled by this very special young woman. If.comeddies Best Newcomer in 2006, and fresh from a successful Edinburgh Festival, 22 year-old Josie Long describes her tellingly entitled Kindness and Exuberance Tour 2007, as being 'about the mysteries and joys surrounding little things', and most of all, 'about trying to be kind'. A little bit too sweet and saccharine, perhaps. Loveable, absolutely. Innocent, hilariously adorable, honest and possible a little bit mad - Josie Long is out to make the corners of the grumpiest of mouths twitch into a smile. Catch the Kindness and Exuberance Tour 2007, Thurs 22 Feb (£10 phone, £9 online, £5 NUS).

I’m Worried That I’m Starting To Hate Almost Everyone In The World is the title of his tour, but the feeling is most definitely not mutual. Mark Watson has nominations coming out of his ears; including South Bank Show, Time Out Magazine and two Perrier nominations, not to mention winning an If.comeddies panel prize award. This talented young comedian and novelist has a successful Edinburgh Festival run under his belt and is already being hailed as 'first class stand-up' (Metro). This rising star is definitely one you need to see. Thurs 8 March (£11 phone, £10 online, £7 NUS).

Phil Nichol is a comedian who will leave you feeling utterly exhausted. His sheer enthusiasm, energy and hilarious show The Naked Racist Tour 2007 can guarantee a breathless, side-splitting and immensely funny experience. Winner of the If.comeddies Award 2006, The Naked Racist has been hailed a 'genius of a show' by The Herald. Thurs 15 March (£13.50 phone, £12.50 online, £10.50 NUS).

With his brand of grouchy, political, anti-American humour, Rich Hall provides enough deadpan irony to make the most cynical of comedy aficionados twitch at the corners of the mouth with his 2007 UK tour. With an array of television credits to his name, including BBC2’s Q.I and Have I Got News For You I think it’s safe to say we can expect big things from hard-hitting, Perrier Award winning comedian Rich Hall. Weds 28 March. (£14 phone, £13 online, £10)
